OUCH!

I've slacked a little in my blogging efforts this last week, but I have a very good reason. I debated sharing this on my blog, but figure what's done is done, so why not? Last Tuesday I went under the knife for a cosmetic surgery procedure.

I'm done having kids and although I love them dearly, they have completely destroyed my body, so in an attempt to rectify some of my issues, I used some of our tax refund for this procedure. I'm happy I did it, although it has been extremely painful to recover from. I have been on lots of pain-killers this past week - bless the person who discovered Demerol.

Today is the first day I am just on Tylenol for pain and I am finally emerging from the fog I have been in. I am still hurting, but not the stabbing pain, just real sore and bruised.

Is it worth it? I think so - I have no problems with cosmetic surgery. I know lots of people have issues with it and some think it is flat out wrong, but I am happy with my decision. I didn't tell my mom about it until after the fact, but it surprised me how supportive she was, in fact she is considering a procedure as well. Who knew?

Happy Easter

I was up until 12:30 am last night putting together the kids Easter baskets and hiding eggs in our family room (I had to fill the plastic eggs too). How did I procrastinate all that??? My kids wouldn't all come together for a picture, so unfortunately I have nothing to show how nice they all looked for church today. Speaking of church, Scott and I spent most of it in the foyer with Hallie & Audrey. They were both being little pills, so I took them home and put them to nap before Easter dinner at Grandma Bee's & Grandpa Bill's. We had a fabulous dinner though - I have such a great family.

(Kesley wouldn't get out of bed!)

My sweet Easter cupcakes - they were lemon poundcake with lemon cream cheese frosting - YUM!!!

I want a new kitchen

I think I found what I want to do with my kitchen (eventually). I hate our wood cabinets - I would totally paint them this color and add bead board along my bar. We already have the wood floor, but I would add a sweet beige/tan granite countertop too. The stained Formica look I have going on right now sucks.
What do you think???

Piggies

Kind of hard to tell, but there are two little piggie tails in Audrey's hair. I know it was pushing it, but she looked so dang cute!!! My baby is growing up.

Biggest Loser

I am so excited I could just about explode!!!!!!! My favorite cousin, Jen, and her sister (whom I also dearly love) Holly, are going to be on the reality show: The Biggest Loser. Jen called me last night to share the news. The only catch is that this next season will be teams of three competing, so NBC wanted to know if Jen and Holly by chance have a sister? Uh, yes! Looks like either younger sister Laurie or maybe their dad will be competing with them. Holy cow!!! I am so excited for them - this will be such a huge life changing experience. I am going to be their biggest cheerleader. I am so hoping she'll start a blog about this crazy experience (hint, hint Jen!) Right now it looks like filming will be May-June-July and the episodes will air this fall with a finale show late this year. Way to go Jen!!!!!!!

Sick & tired of being sick & tired!

I think I am losing it. I have a good excuse though. I have the flu and this is going on day number 8. I am so tired, worn down, and crabby I could seriously self combust.

Last Friday evening I was "helping" my two little ones clean up their room. Half way through the project I decided to lay down in their closet. Just laid there while they played all around me. Audrey even pulled down a bunch of books on my bare feet and I just laid there and cried about it. I was in there for over an hour. At one point Dallin came in and couldn't see me (because I was in the closet) - so he asked Hallie, "Where's mom?".
Hallie: "She's in the closet."
Dallin: "Mom, why are you on the floor in the closet?"
Me (in tears): "I don't know."
Dallin: "Are we going to have dinner soon?" (translation - are you going to get up and make us something)
Me: "Just eat cereal."
Hallie: "Yippeeeeee!!!!"
Dallin: "Do I HAVE to make HER cereal too?"
Me: "No son, don't strain yourself, I got it."
Dallin: "Can I make popcorn?"
Me: "No, it's bad enough you’re having cereal for dinner, let's not make it worse."
Dallin (sulking): "I like popcorn better."
Me: "Yeah, life's hard, deal with it."

My poor family. If it wasn't for the case of Kraft mac and cheese in my food storage and the Post cereal sale a while back, my kids would have starved while I was sick. I almost told them to break into their 72 hour kits. Doesn't mom being sick count as a disaster? If you answered no, I have a wreck of a house that would completely change your thinking.

Dallin's Baptism

Dallin is now an official member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This morning he was baptized by his father and then confirmed. We had a great little program and a nice lunch afterwards at our home. Dallin was so excited for today and I think it absolutely lived up to his expectations - he even got gifts!!! Thank you to everyone who came and made this day so special for him and for our family.
