It's My Birthday & I'll Cry If I Want To

Yep, today's my birthday - never mind how old I am turning. This is really the first year I am NOT thrilled with having another birthday. I don't feel this old, most people tell me I don't look this old (please don't burst my bubble and tell me any different) and I hope I don't act this old. This year my birthday just sounds old. But don't worry, I'm still accepting presents and treats - I'm old, not stupid! Scott gave me some A&F perfume (see, still hip) and a fondue pot (oh no!). Dallin gave me a pack of gum. Hallie sang to me and Audrey just grinned. Kesley is tending for us tonight so we can go out to dinner ALONE!

So Happy #%th Birthday to me!!!

SUPRISE!!!!

On Saturday the kids and I (Scott had to work) traveled to Monroe, UT (just south of Richfield) for a surprise birthday party for his grandad's 85th birthday. We hadn't seen this side of his family for a really long time, in fact they had never even met Audrey. It was fun - a long time in the car, but I'm glad we went.

Waiting for him to arrive...

Surprise! He had NO idea.

Great grandkids singing I am a Child of God.

fun, Fun, FUN!!!

So last night for Dallin's birthday, he decided to go to Applebee's for dinner and then Hollywood Connection for some games/rides. And he invited Nick & Kellie, Gandpa Bill & Grandma Bee, Jennie (Ty had school) & Zach & Brooklyn. Mom, dad, Hallie & Audrey were there too - Kesley was home sick.

At the restaurant, we made sure to let them know it was his birthday and they came out with a birthday treat and sang to him. He was sooooo embarrased - wish I'd have been quicker and caught it on camera! Hallie was terrified of the KISS poster hanging across from her and kept saying, "But, I don't like those scary mans." Brooklyn thought the one looked like a kitty.

At Hollywood Connections, we rode rides... some were big hits - others not so much...

Then we headed upstairs to play a few video games...

This place is definately geared more towards kids, but there wasn't SO much to do that the adults felt lke we were stuck there forever - so it was FUN! And Dallin had a blast - on the way out to the car he hugged me and said that it was the best birthday EVER!!!!!

Happy Birthday Dallin

Today is Dallin's 8th birthday!!!!! I so can't believe he is getting so big - I swear he was just a baby ten minutes ago. We had a family party yesterday at his grandma and grandpa's house. I am so extremely happy about how his cake turned out...

He loved it - his exact words: "mom, it's the most awesome cake ever."

Dallin had asked for a Red Ryder BB gun, but didn't think he would get one. Everyone collectively now, "You'll shoot your eye out." Well, you can see by the shape of the package, he scored. Yeah, dad bought him a BB gun. Not sure how I feel about it - I hope small children, neighborhood pets and my windows are safe. Although I really want new windows, so that wouldn't be ALL bad.

I think Dallin had a great time with his cousins yesterday and tonight we are going out to dinner and then to Hollywood Connection for some fun with all the family. Love you Dallin!!!

Happy Birthday Scott

Today we move on to Scott's Birthday - it will be hard to compare to Hallie's Princess party yesterday, but that's OK. Scott is 35 today. Wow, how did we get that old???

I actually met Scott exactly 20 years ago this month. He had just turned 15 and I was 14. We met in 9th grade. I guess when I say it seems like I've known him forever, I really have, at least in terms of my lifetime.

We don't really have any plans for today. I took breakfast (doughnuts & OJ) to him and the guys at his work this morning. I also included a Disney Happy Birthday balloon - I'm sure he was thrilled. I'd like to go out tonight, but I don't think we will since Scott's been feeling lousy with a cold - maybe we'll just pick up some take-out and watch a movie. I got Hotel Rwanda from netflicks yesterday, so that might be nice to watch together after the kids go to bed.

Anyway, Happy 35th Birthday to my dear husband!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Hallie

Today is our little Hallie's 3rd Birthday. SOOOO hard to believe she is already getting so big. We had a family party for her - Princess themed complete with castle cake and Cinderella dress-up dress costume.

Homemade castle cake.
Our family room all decorated for the party
(Hallie is spinning and going nuts in anticipation).
Blowing out the candles.
Birthday gifts... Kitchen and bakers set.
Birthday gifts... Princess bike!

Thank you everyone for making this such a fun birthday for Hallie. She was so tired afterwards, it took less than 5 minutes for her to fall asleep - VERY unusual for her, she usually sneaks out at least 3-4 times.
