Why am I so tired???

You could pick from ANY of the following reasons why my eyelids feel like they are made out of lead right now, but "lucky" for me all of them are true...
  • Audrey is cutting some more teeth and is miserable, she can't sleep and keeps everyone up.
  • Audrey just wants to be held about 4am and she screams, not cries, ScReAmS until I get her - which wakes up Hallie and then I have TWO whiney kids!!!
  • I'm working 2 tens, meaning I job-share, so I am working 2 consecutive days out of our 4/10 workweek. They are killer.
  • I keep getting hooked on watching the late-night Olympics!!!
  • Scott snores - his medication makes him pretty much comatose, so I can't even get him to turn on his side. AHHHHHH!
  • I have so many issues running through my head - I just can't turn it off at night.
  • School starts in one week - so much to get done.
  • My mom moves in this weekend - don't get me started.
  • It was REALLY windy 2 nights this weekend and the noise kept me up forever.
  • AND FINALLY.... I had another lovely kidney stone episode this weekend. Up at 3am in a hot bath trying to scald my pain away; then from 4-6am I watched all the good parts of Phantom of the Opera and PS I Love You . (I am a little obsessed right now with Gerard Butler).

Hope everyone else is sleeping better that I have been. Maybe it's time to break out the Tylenol PM.

Friday FIVE

1. Fresh fruit. And I'm eating a ton of fresh fruits an veggies (new healthy eating plan - love it). My favs right now are strawberries and kiwis. Costco has both right now and they are beautiful - YUM!

2. Mary Englebright. Her characters are so cute. I have a little box designed by her that hold my rubber bands at work and it is so sweet - makes me smile.

3. OFF! mosquito repellant. I hate mosquito bites - I am allergic and swell up like mad - plus the itch, who enjoys that? OFF! is the best. And it comes in some other more pleasant smelling fragrences that aren't half bad. AND they have a new non-greasy spray that is even more wonderful. I live by a "great" big stagnant lake - gotta have OFF!

4. Sleeping in. This doesn't happen very often - especailly with Hallie/Audrey, but when it does it is HEAVEN. I wish I could be a teenager like Kesley and sleep until noon. I hate mornings.

5. Wipies. They aren't just for babies you know. And they are great to keep in the kitchen to wipe off messy hands and faces. We have them in every bathroom, the girls room, the kitchen, in the car and each diaper bag. My favorites are Kirkland (from Costco) and Parents Choice (Walmart brand). Both are thick enough to get it done, but thin enough to manuver. Oh, and I love the disinfectant wipies many stores have to wipe off your cart with. Yeah, wipies are good.

Ahhhh, the quiet...

I am loving this afternoon. My SIL Jennie and I took our kids to lunch and the pool. After an hour and a half the littlest kids were getting tired (and whiney), so I offered to take the 3 youngest home for naps. My Hallie (3), Jennie's Brooklyn (2) and my Audrey (19 months) are ALL asleep at the SAME TIME. Audrey fell asleep in the car on the 5 minute drive home. Hallie settled down and was out in record time. Brooklyn had a little drama at first and cried, no screamed for awhile, but I told her I was calling her mama to see when she'd be back, and she calmed down and fell asleep. No, I never called - and yes, I lied to the sweet innocent child. Here they all are sleeping blissfully (a little dark since I didn't use a flash)...

Brooklyn in Dallin's bed

Audrey in her crib

I love how the pool and being outside always wears little kids out.

Eating WHILE sleeping

Audrey was SO tired this afternoon. I caught her falling asleep in her high chair, but she wanted her graham cracker so much, she kept eating it, even while falling asleep. So cute! I love this kid.

Kids can sleep anywhere

I was at Target today with Hallie and Audrey, and being it was Target, we were there for a long time - I LOVE to wander around that store. We had just finished lunch before we came so Audrey was full and ready for her nap. Soon her little eyes were just too heavy and she was nodding off. Mind you she was belted into the cart and fell asleep sitting up. She slept for more than 20 minutes as we rolled around with Hallie chattering ninety miles an hour behind her in the basket. It was so sweet and I could kick myself for not taking a picture of her with my cell phone.

However over the last 2 weeks I have caught both Hallie and Audrey sleeping in funny places. This one is Audrey asleep in her high chair after eating lunch...

And this one is Hallie alseep on the stairs when my mom was tending her one day...

Maybe we need to put them to bed earlier. NO, they just need to sleep in later - that's another thing, why do kids wake up soooo early all the time? As soon as it's light, my kids are up running around. I can't even think straight yet and they are so wild. Maybe I need thicker curtains in their rooms to block the light. Hmmm....
